Why Charles G. Dawes Was The Most Important Vice President You’ve Never Heard of!

Though the name Charles G. Dawes is seldom remembered in early 20th century American politics, only being remembered for the post-WWI Dawes Plan that dealt with postwar reparations, Charles G. Dawes was the most important vice president you've never heard of! Serving as Calvin Coolidge's vice president after his re-election in 1924, Dawes helped the Coolidge Administration pass several bills, chief among them being the McNary-Haugen Farm Relief Bill (although Coolidge did end up vetoing this). But it wasn't necessarily what he did in office that made him arguably the greatest vice president, it was what he did before and after being vice president, such as being a war hero, a Nobel Peace Prize recipient and Ambassador to the UK to name but a few.
