Will CANZUK bring back the British Empire after a 2020 Brexit?

Britain officially left the European Union on Friday. Still, the prime minister has not gotten a deal from the European Union, for the UK-EU relationship post-Brexit. Many have put forward the idea of CANZUK as the UK's next major trading bloc, but what is CANZUK and why are people calling for it? CANZUK is a theoretical trading bloc, acting much like the EU and NAFTA does, but with a classical British twist. It would only comprise of certain nations made up from the former British Empire. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); As the name suggests, there will be four main members: Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, hence the acronym "CANZUK". We actually brought up the subject in one of our first posts, discussing why Britain isn't l...

Who will win the 2019 General election in the UK?

A while ago, we did an article on whether there would be a 2019 general election in the UK. We wrote that article due to the dis-contempt among the British people over Brexit... yes again. Why are the British people dis-contempt with Brexit? This has been covered in our previous articles, regarding Brexit, but also the wider internet as a whole. But it boils down to one key reason: Brexit was a lie from the get-go. And when this lie was found out, many people who voted leave, chose to publicly renounce Brexit as a sham. Over the past three years, we have seen three different prime ministers, all of whom have failed to get a Brexit deal in place. Now both Labour and the Conservatives have called for a general election, something that has been granted. (adsbygoogl...

Why Emmanuel Macron will kill any future Brexit extension requests

Recently, Boris Johnson sought an extension to Article 50, something that was granted, but Emmanuel Macron played hardball. There was a lot of speculation as to whether Emmanuel Macron would agree to such an extension to Brexit.  (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Who is Emmanuel Macron? Before we delve deeper, we need to establish some base facts on Emmanuel Macron, this is not a comprehensive biography to any means. However, Emmanuel Macron is the President of France, and by extension, France is the third biggest economy in all of Europe. Macron previously worked as a writer and as a financial inspector for the IGF. However, Macron has also worked in a high paid investment banker position at Rothschild et Cie. Banque, leaving them in 2012. In 20...

“Socialism or Communism will take over Britain after Brexit or in the next 10 years”- My thoughts

Brexit is less than 3 months away, we have spoken often on it, but now, I want to reveal my opinions on the British political system post-Brexit. I believe firmly that the post-Brexit United Kingdom will lead to either a socialist or communist uprising/revolt/revolution. Why do I believe that Socialism or Communism will take over? Many people’s initial reaction to this is “Yeah right!” or “This is just some old timer who doesn’t understand the world.” First of all, I’m only in my mid-thirties, so not that old (although my kids would disagree). Secondly, this article was written because I was recently in a secondary school near to where I live.  (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); At the aforementioned school, I was asked to sit in a Year 10 (Americ...

Is Brexit even worth the hassle?

In 2016, the British people voted in a referendum, the outcome was that they were to leave the European Union. This move was dubbed Brexit by the media and politicians alike.  I personally don’t like the idea of it, if we want to leave, get it over with. If, as I assume, the British people don’t want to leave the European Union, put it back to the people. Brexit or remain? The people need to decide, not politicians in Brussels and the House of Commons.  (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Why do I dislike Brexit? I hinted to this earlier last week, I wrote the following in last week’s article: “Am I the only Brit sick-and-tired of hearing the word ‘Brexit’? I get up, Brexit. I go to bed, Brexit. I go to Europe, Brexit. The word is driving m...

General Election- Will we get one soon?

Chaos is gripping Downing Street and Parliament. Polls indicate that we are heading for a general election. But why? With a general election looking inevitable, politicians have been scrambling for support. The PM has twice called for a general election at the end of October, but twice has been rejected. Rival MPs have suggested they will back a national poll. However, only if a no deal has been ruled out.  However polls do not reflect the Labour-Conservative divide.  (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); How do the polls reflect a potential general election? Smaller parties have gained larger support. Parties like the Lib Dems; Brexit Party and the Greens have gained support. The support us come as a direct loss to the Conservatives and L...
No-deal Brexit- Why does Boris Johnson continue to refuse to rule it out?

No-deal Brexit- Why does Boris Johnson continue to refuse to rule it out?

Brexit. It’s all that’s been talked about for three years. Ever since Boris Johnson became the PM, he has refused to rule out a no-deal Brexit. Why does the PM continue to do this? It’s simple. Boris Johnson is a fervent Brexiteer. He campaigned for Brexit. He ran for PM based on the fact he was a Brexiteer. He believes in the referendum held in 2016.  (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); During the recent G7 summit. The press repeatedly asked what the PM would do if MPs tried to thwart his policy. The PM declined to rule out shutting down parliament.  The PM spoke about Brexit “I think people are tired of Brexit. They’re yearning for the day Brexit comes off the front pages of the papers. This will only happen on October 31st. When Britain lea...

10 Downing Street expects push back against no deal Brexit

10 Downing Street expects that opposition MPs will make a move to stop a no deal Brexit. The PM believes this will happen when Parliament returns on the second week of September. With the EU unlikely to respond. Only when the battle has played out. Likely at the end of September. A government source tells Politic-Ed that the date will likely be 9 September. A week after Parliament returns. Boris Johnson may meet other EU leaders. Including Merkel and Macron. However Leo Varadkar will not attend. Not before the G7 summit in Biarritz, France. At the end of August.  (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); However, 10 Downing Street is confident that the EU won’t do anything. Not until September has played out. And Britain shows their hand. The Eu has t...

Why Brexit is significant, revealed

Three years ago Britain had a referendum. The EU: In or Out. The vote was split 48% to 52%. Quite close politically speaking. Three years later, Brexit delayed twice, two prime ministers and counting. And still no Brexit. And ever since, the British media talks solely about Brexit... Brexit is significant because it is the first real way Britain has begun to isolate itself since before the Great War. In 1973, Britain joined the EU- bringing Europe closer together, but now they are going back closer to the 18th century... (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Mrs May triggered Article 50 (where the UK formally declared its departure from the European Union) on the 29th of March 2017. This means that on the 29th of March 2019 Britain should have left the ...

Why Britain isn’t leaving Europe, only the EU…

Since the controversial Brexit vote in June 2016, where Britain voted to leave the EU. British politics has been quite frankly... poor. The British leaders have been squabbling, barely able to come to an agreement within the Conservative party let alone factoring Jeremy Corbyn and his Labour Party. This uncertainty has caused businesses to justifiably emigrate to more stable countries, like Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and France.  (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); The British Spirit Despite the Brexit vote, Britain will remain a European powerhouse. The geopolitical landscape of Britain has not been shifted by Brexit. This is echoed by the past. Whether the aggressor was Napoleon, Wilhelm II, Hitler, or the Communists, Britain h...
